HER STORY - THE BOAT

"Go-on II"

Go-on II was built in Kolding, closer to Bramdrupdam Kro in 1952, As the first of a total of 94 Dragons to be built by Pedersen &Thuesen. The first owner was H. Noes Petersen and was named Vivi

Then Den Danske Marinen had the boat for approx. 7 years later, it was renamed Sphinx, which name followed by the next owner Axel Theisen in Kastrup, Copenhagen, DK

We then bought the boat in 1974 and named it Go-on II. During that period, it was not in good condition, and after almost every voyage we had to repair the boat therefore it was sold in 1977 and replaced by the world's first fiberglass dragon, a BB fiberglass dragon of 1974. After the sale, Go-on II was renamed "Le Bejou" and ended up in Hadsund, DK, where we bought it back in 1984 after a thorough renovation it was again named  "Go-on II"  and the boat has been continuously upgraded so that it can sail racing against the brand new dragons in fiberglass and we participate in the Danish Championships and other international sailings many times and the last Danish Champions was in 2021, and after that race, Go-on II have not been in the water, because I am 80 years and don’t have physics anymore to maintain the boat in good condition.
